Privacy Policy

Last updated October 20, 2026. Short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.

This policy explains how Agora Media ("we", "us"), which runs agoramedia.online and the Agora Media Facebook Page, handles information about visitors. We follow the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and the issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

1. What we are

Agora Media is a news aggregator. We publish headlines and our own short summaries ("Briefs") of stories from Philippine and international news outlets, each linking to the original publisher. Full articles live on the publishers' sites.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. The site has no sign-ups, logins, comments, forms or newsletter. If you message us, for example through our Facebook Page, we receive what you choose to send (such as your name, profile and message) and use it only to reply.

Technical information. Like every website, our hosting provider automatically receives standard request data when a page loads: IP address, browser and device type, page requested, referring page, and date and time. It is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. We do not use it to identify or profile visitors.

Location. The site does not use your location. If we add local news in the future, your browser will ask your permission first, and this policy will be updated before that happens.

3. Cookies, analytics and ads

We do not set cookies, run advertising, or use analytics or tracking scripts. Your browser may cache our pages and files for speed; you can clear that in your browser settings.

4. How we use information

  • To deliver, operate and secure the website
  • To reply to messages you send us
  • To comply with legal obligations

Our lawful bases under RA 10173 are our legitimate interest in running a free public news site, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with law.

5. Who else handles data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Only these service providers process data, under their own privacy commitments:

  • Vercel Inc.: website hosting and delivery; servers may be outside the Philippines (privacy policy)
  • Google Fonts: serves the site's typeface, so your browser connects to Google to load it (privacy policy)
  • Meta (Facebook): only when you visit or message our Facebook Page (privacy policy)

We may disclose information when required by law, court order or a lawful request from Philippine authorities.

6. Links to publishers

Headlines and Briefs link to third-party news sites. When you click through, you leave Agora Media and that publisher's own privacy policy and cookies apply.

7. Retention

Hosting request logs are kept only for the short period set by our host, then deleted automatically. Messages are kept only as long as needed to respond.

8. Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS on managed infrastructure, and we apply reasonable organizational, physical and technical measures as required by RA 10173. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, but because we collect so little, very little personal data is at risk.

9. Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access, to object, to correct, to erasure or blocking, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to claim damages. Contact us below to exercise any of them. You may also file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.

10. Children

Agora Media is a general-audience news site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the current version.

12. Contact
